The Partnership on AI

A group of company execs partnering to guide the advancement of AI in the right direction

The thought of Artificial Intelligence is scary for most, mainly because of how Hollywood has masked it with horror, terror, and the unknown. The Partnership on AI was created to keep those Hollywood Sci-Fi nightmares from happening.

If you’re curious, yes Google, Apple, and Microsoft are few of the many Partners. From my research, Apple advocates heavily for privacy and security within this initiative. Here’s the closing statement in the introduction of the Partnership from the Founding Co-Chairs.

”The activities of the Partnership on AI will be determined by its Partners, but from the outset the hope has been to create a place for open critique and reflection. It is our intention that the Partnership on AI will be collaborative, constructive, and work openly with all. Crucially, the Partnership on AI has been explicitly designed to bring together researchers, academics, businesses, policy makers, and all with an interest in this endeavor, in a structure that ensures balanced governance by diverse stakeholders.”
